Labubu Accelerates Pop Mart's Sales Impressively, Reaching an Astounding $2 Billion in Revenue in the First Six Months of 2025

Pop Mart, a Chinese toy company, has reported an impressive 204.4% increase in revenue to RMB 13.88 billion ($1.95 billion) in the first half of 2025 [1][2]. This surge is accompanied by a 385.6% rise in net profit to RMB 4.68 billion ($659 million) [1]. The company's international business is currently experiencing a period of high growth, with revenue in the Americas increasing by an astounding 1,142.3% [1].

The growth is largely attributed to the popularity of Pop Mart's THE MONSTERS series, including the Labubu IP. Sales for these products increased by an impressive 668% to RMB 4.81 billion ($677 million) [1]. Pop Mart is strategically focusing on the US market, adopting a cautious but confident expansion approach, prioritising "quality over speed" in store openings [1].

In addition to the US, Pop Mart plans to expand into new overseas markets such as the Middle East and Central Europe, aiming to operate over 200 overseas stores by the end of 2025 [1][3]. The company expects foreign sales to surpass domestic sales in 2025 and North America to outperform Southeast Asia.

Pop Mart's current market valuation stands at $38 billion [2], a figure that surpasses the combined market valuations of Mattel, Hasbro, and Sanrio. This valuation is a result of the increased share price of Pop Mart, which has risen more than 200% in the last year.

Labubu, a popular character created by Hong Kong-based artist Kasing Lung, became part of Pop Mart's blind box lineup in 2018. The Labubu monsters have gained widespread popularity and have become a must-have accessory among wealthy collectors, often dangling from designer bags like Hermès Birkin.

In the first half of 2025, Labubu monsters accounted for 34.7 percent of Pop Mart's total revenue [1]. As Pop Mart continues its global expansion, it's clear that the company's unique blend of popular culture and collectible toys is resonating with consumers worldwide.
