Kohl's Kicks Off Early Holiday Shopping With Big Deals, Expanded Pickup Options
Kohl's is starting the holiday shopping season early this year, announcing a slew of deals and promotions starting October 6. The retailer is also expanding its self-pickup options and facing shareholder pressure.
Kohl's will offer weekly toy deals every week from October to December, with special offers during Black Friday and Cyber Sale events. Shoppers can earn Kohl's Cash daily between Cyber Monday and Christmas. Kohl's Rewards members can earn 7.5% back on every purchase made this holiday season.
The retailer is also launching a Lego promotion called 'Bricktober', featuring twice as many Lego products and 20% discounts on some items. Kohl's has expanded its self-pickup option to all locations in anticipation of the holiday season.
However, Kohl's faces challenges. S&P Global Ratings has given the retailer a negative outlook, indicating a possible future credit downgrade. Macellum Advisors, an activist hedge fund, called for the exit of CEO Michelle Gass and chairman Peter Boneparth in September 2021. Earlier this year, Kohl's rejected a takeover bid from Franchise Group.
Kohl's is preparing for the holiday season with expanded deals and services. Despite facing shareholder pressure and a potential credit downgrade, the retailer is focused on providing customers with convenient shopping options and value.
