Kicks off: Exhibition of fresh video and computer game unveilings at Gamescom
The Gamescom event, a significant gathering in the gaming industry, has commenced in Cologne, Germany, attracting around 5,000 fans. This year's event is presenting trailers for a diverse range of games, including those with themes of fantasy, horror, and conflict.
One of the most anticipated games showcased at the event is "Call of Duty - Black Ops 7". Set in 2035, this first-person shooter game sends up to four players as a team into an apocalyptic future, where they must fight against both physical enemies and psychological terror.
Another highly anticipated title is "World of Warcraft - Midnight", a game featuring an end-time battle of elves against brutal creatures. This expansion is expected to launch fully in 2026.
The horror classic "Resident Evil" is being remade and showcased at the event under the title "Resident Evil - Requiem". Meanwhile, "Bloodlines 2", focusing on vampires, is not mentioned among the Gamescom 2025 announcements, suggesting it was not featured there.
Other notable games presented at the event include "Lords of the Fallen 2", a game coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S; "Project Spectrum", a new horror tactical PvPvE FPS by Team Jade, featuring supernatural combat and transformation abilities; and "Ghost of Yotei", a PS5 exclusive from Sucker Punch focusing on vengeance-driven gameplay with horseback exploration.
