Kia America Provides Aid During Hurricane Helene by Offering $500 for New Kias and Contributing to the Red Cross

Kia America has stepped forward to support customers and communities affected by Hurricane Helene, which made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane on Sept. 26. The automobile manufacturer announced immediate assistance programs, including a vehicle replacement program, as part of their ongoing charitable initiative, "Accelerate the Good."

SeungKyu (Sean) Yoon, President and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America, expressed his commitment to helping those in need. "We recognise the difficulty of these situations and want to support our customers however possible," he stated.

As part of the "Accelerate the Good" charitable initiative, Kia supports organisations that treat childhood cancer, end childhood hunger, provide shelter to youth facing homelessness, offer natural disaster relief, support military families, help shelter animals find forever homes, and assist with environmental cleanup projects nationwide.

In response to Hurricane Helene, Kia America has partnered with Kia Georgia, Inc., to donate $250,000 to the American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts in the region. Alicia Doherty, Regional Executive of the Red Cross of Georgia, expressed her appreciation for Kia's generous contribution.

For customers in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina who have suffered loss of a vehicle due to Hurricane Helene, Kia America has introduced a $500 vehicle purchase/lease assistance program. Eligible customers can receive this support between October 4, 2024, and January 2, 2025. Customers should consult with their dealers for full program details.

Yoon stated that the $500 payment assistance program is intended to ease the burden on customers as they move forward. He also expressed gratitude towards the American Red Cross for their quick assistance in times of need. The donated funds will provide vital resources such as food, water, shelter, and medicine.

Moreover, Kia team members are raising funds internally through the American Red Cross to support relief efforts. Since 2019, Kia's "Accelerate the Good" charitable initiative has provided over $30 million to those in need.

The hurricane caused catastrophic damage in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Kia America's assistance program is part of their efforts to support individuals and families affected by Hurricane Helene. For precise information about this program, I recommend checking Kia America’s official communications or contacting local Kia dealerships in the affected states directly.

Technology plays a crucial role in Kia America's ongoing charitable initiative, "Accelerate the Good," as the company uses technology to connect with organizations and efficiently distribute resources to those in need, such as the American Red Cross.

SeungKyu (Sean) Yoon, President and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America, also emphasized that technology is essential for providing real-time updates and assistance to customers affected by natural disasters like Hurricane Helene.
