Investment Encouragement Intensifies in Phu Tho, Focusing on High-Tech and Green Sectors
Phu Tho Province Embraces High-Tech and Green Technology Projects
Phu Tho province, located in Vietnam, is aggressively pursuing several high-tech and green technology projects to attract foreign investment, with a particular focus on industrial parks that integrate smart, sustainable, and advanced manufacturing features.
One of the key projects is the Amata City Phu Tho – Hung King Industrial Park (Doan Hung Industrial Park), developed by Amata VN. This smart city industrial park, spanning 300-500 hectares, is scheduled for development between 2025 and 2030. The park aims to cater to industries such as automotive manufacturing and supporting industries, high-tech sectors, and clean energy powered by renewable resources. Specifically, it targets electronics, telecommunications, semiconductors, AI, mechanical engineering, and automotive assembly.
Another significant project is the CNCTech Industrial Zone, spearheaded by the CNCTech Group. This 500-hectare high-tech industrial zone consists of 15 individual projects with a combined investment close to 9 trillion VND (~$400 million). The zone includes a major project like the UTI high-tech factory specialized in electronic component production, integrated into a global supply chain. CNCTech's vision is to build an integrated, sustainable high-tech ecosystem involving research, advanced manufacturing, and innovation.
A new project, Nam Binh Xuyen Green Park, is also underway. This green and smart industrial park, covering around 295.74 hectares, emphasizes environmentally friendly and smart industrial development, promoting green technology and sustainability within industrial infrastructure.
Phu Tho province is implementing various on-site investment promotion strategies to attract and support foreign direct investment effectively. These strategies include active cooperation with experienced industrial park developers like Amata VN and CNCTech, signing strategic MOUs and holding working sessions with stakeholders, committing to providing a favorable investment environment, fostering a comprehensive ecosystem, and developing industrial parks as smart cities and sustainable green zones.
Phu Tho's efforts have resulted in strong growth in foreign direct investment, contributing to socio-economic development. The province is also committed to assisting enterprises from business registration to resolving obstacles during project implementation. In addition, Phu Tho is increasing investment promotion efforts, organizing investor networking activities, communicating more about investment promotion, and producing a documentary in five languages.
Phu Tho has already sent six investment promotion delegations to key markets such as the Republic of Korea, Japan, South Africa, India, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan (China), Sweden, Spain, and China. These missions aim to promote the investment environment, mechanisms, policies, and opportunities in Phu Tho. Infrastructure development is a focus, particularly in industrial parks and clusters. Phu Tho plans to organize seven overseas investment promotion missions next year, with the focus on studying potential, markets, trends, and partners.
In the first seven months of 2025, the province attracted US$651.7 million in foreign direct investment. Phu Tho is also prioritizing support for investors in tourism and services to make the province a leading travel destination. Business dialogues and investment promotion events will be held in Phu Tho.
Phu Tho aims to attract infrastructure development projects for industrial parks and clusters, including Tam Nong, Ha Hoa, Phu Ninh, Trung Ha II, Lap Thach I, Lap Thach II, and Tam Duong II (Zone B). In addition, 2,701 new enterprises were established with a combined registered capital of over VNĐ25.5 trillion. Transport links to expressways and national highways will be upgraded in Phu Tho.
Phu Tho is prioritizing high-tech, green technology, semiconductor, and clean energy projects to position itself as a hub for innovative and sustainable manufacturing. The province's commitment to smart cities, green technology, and a favorable investment environment makes it an attractive destination for foreign investors focusing on ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) criteria.
