Intel Arrow Lake Battery Endurance: After more than 100 hours of trial, the results demonstrate a mixed picture

The release of the 2025 models of the Asus Zenbook Duo and MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo has brought about an intriguing development in the world of laptops. Both these devices have made the switch to Intel's latest Arrow Lake CPUs, and initial testing results suggest that these processors may offer better battery life compared to their Meteor Lake counterparts.

The MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo (2025) boasts a battery life of 15 hours and 20 minutes, a significant improvement over its Meteor Lake predecessor. Meanwhile, the Asus Zenbook Duo (2025) offers a battery life of 8 hours and 39 minutes in single-screen mode, a drop of about 2 hours compared to its 2024 model. However, in dual-screen mode, the battery life drops further to 6 hours and 5 minutes.

Both the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo and Asus Zenbook Duo (2025) are equipped with Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processors, a step up from the Core Ultra 7 155H processors found in their 2024 counterparts.

The improved battery life can be attributed to the more advanced 5 nm technology used in Arrow Lake CPUs, which typically enables better power efficiency. Notebookcheck testing and reviews have observed Arrow Lake laptops like the Dell 16 Premium achieving better battery life than previous Meteor Lake-based versions.

Both CPUs have similar TDP ratings, but architectural enhancements in Arrow Lake contribute to better performance-per-watt and battery longevity. In the case of the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo and Asus Zenbook Duo, these benefits translate into at least equivalent or somewhat better battery life compared to their Meteor Lake counterparts.

However, it's important to note that actual battery runtime will also depend on factors such as display, battery capacity, and usage scenarios. A full review of the new versions of the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo and the Asus Zenbook Duo will provide more detailed performance results.

In conclusion, the switch to Intel's Arrow Lake CPUs seems to have paid off for the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo and Asus Zenbook Duo, offering users the promise of improved battery life in these high-performance laptops. Whether these improvements will be enough to secure a spot on the list of best laptops of the year remains to be seen.
