In a span of two years, Almaty attracts a massive investment of $19.2 million towards the growth of its Information Technology (IT) infrastructure.

In the heart of Kazakhstan, the city of Almaty has been undergoing a significant digital transformation, thanks to the 'Almaty IT Ecosystem Development' project. This project, spanning from 2022 until the present, has seen a surge in technological growth and entrepreneurial spirit.

At the forefront of this change are 101 business angels, who have been trained as part of the project. These individuals are now ready to invest in the next big tech ideas, providing a crucial boost to the local startup scene. However, the specific institutions or persons responsible for their training remain unidentified in the available search results.

Parallel to the business angels, 1,189 IT specialists have been trained, equipping them with the skills needed to drive the city's digital future. Among these, 55 specialists were honed under the Digital Urban Planner, Smart City Engineer program, indicating a focus on sustainable and intelligent urban development.

The training and education efforts have borne fruit, with 309 startups springing up as a result of acceleration and incubation programs. These startups have not only generated local employment but also made a significant impact on the economy. During the events, they have collectively generated 5.37 billion tenge (US$10 million), a testament to their innovation and potential.

The project has also created 2,049 jobs, providing opportunities for the local workforce. Sixteen of the produced startups have even achieved international sales, showcasing their global competitiveness.

Furthermore, over 7,000 participants have attended IT enthusiast events, demonstrating a strong interest and support for the digital transformation in Almaty. The city's IT ecosystem is not just growing, but thriving, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for this burgeoning tech hub.
