IGEL introduces novel enterprise-focused ransomware protection solution

In today's digital age, the importance of securing digital infrastructure against cyber threats, particularly ransomware attacks, cannot be overstated. IGEL, a leading provider of cloud workspaces, has recognised this need and is taking significant strides to equip its channel partners with the necessary resources to bolster security.

IGEL's innovative Dual Boot solution is one such initiative. This technology allows organisations to reboot and switch to IGEL OS in the event of an outage or ransomware attack. All it takes is holding down the F9 key. This solution, which IGEL's CEO, Klaus Oestermann, mentioned has been in development for some time, is in high demand due to the increasing number of ransomware attacks, particularly in critical industries like healthcare, government, financial services, airlines, and transportation.

The surging ransomware attacks are causing disruptions, productivity losses, and financial loss, as Oestermann pointed out. To combat this, IGEL has launched a new enterprise offering called IGEL Business Continuity Dual Boot. This solution serves as a game-changer for organisations, offering rapid recovery, business continuity, and disaster resilience.

One of the key benefits of the IGEL Business Continuity Dual Boot is its non-intrusive nature. It can run alongside Windows, causing minimal disruption to existing operations. Organisations can operate in the IGEL OS environment for 45 days with the Dual Boot solution, which can be extended or made permanent.

Many organisations lack proper methods for recovering from a ransomware attack, creating a significant need in the market for a fast recovery solution like the IGEL Business Continuity Dual Boot. IGEL has worked to strengthen endpoint security through its acquisition of Stratodesk, ensuring a secure connection to online services like Office 365, Teams, Zoom, and other business services, even during a compromise.

IGEL's new offering is set to be of particular interest to managed service providers (MSPs) who manage endpoint security and IT operations across organisations, as well as IT service operations teams. The Phoenix Group, which has already successfully used IGEL’s solution to recover from malware attacks quickly, is one such example. Additionally, Microsoft partners involved in endpoint management and security like Nerdio, ControlUp, and EfficientEther are key, as they collaborate with IGEL on migration tools and endpoint security solutions.

In conclusion, IGEL's Business Continuity Dual Boot solution is a timely response to the growing threat of ransomware attacks. By providing organisations with a swift and effective method to recover from such attacks, IGEL is not only enhancing defence against ransomware but also ensuring business continuity and disaster resilience for its clients.
