IBC2025 Schedule Unveiled by IP Exhibition on the Water for Comprehensive Presentation
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), and the Video Services Forum (VSF) have announced the return of the IP Showcase on the Water presentation schedule for IBC2025. The event, which will take place on Sunday, September 14, from 10am to 4pm, will be held on canal cruise boats launching from Strandzuid at the RAI in Amsterdam.
Attendees can register for the event for free and access the presentation schedule online. Each cruise will accommodate up to 35 attendees and will feature two 20-minute sessions from industry experts, with a total of 12 presentations covering a wide range of IP-related topics.
The key trends and topics to be discussed at the IP Showcase on the Water during IBC2025 include hybrid live production workflows, IP infrastructure advances, NMOS-based systems, interoperability challenges and solutions, and the concept of the dynamic media facility.
Session 1, titled "Hybrid Live Production Workflows and Real-World ST 2110 Deployments," will delve into the practical applications of SMPTE ST 2110, an IP standard for professional media, to enhance live event production flexibility and efficiency. Session 2, titled "IP Infrastructure for IPMX and ST 2110 Networks and PKI and TLS in IPMX and NMOS," will explore the role of public key infrastructure (PKI) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) in IPMX and NMOS, enabling secure and reliable IP-based media workflows.
Session 3, "NMOS-Based Systems and the Evolution of NMOS for ST 2110 and IPMX," will discuss the evolution of NMOS-based systems, which enable device discovery, registration, and control to improve interoperability and automation in IP video environments. Session 4, "Interoperability and Video Profiles and Codec Options in IPMX," will focus on interoperability challenges and solutions to remove barriers between different vendors’ equipment and protocols, facilitating streamlined workflows and integration.
Session 5, "Aligning Flows and Channels and Real-World Dynamic Video and Audio Metadata Deployments," will examine real-world deployments of dynamic video and audio metadata, essential for enhancing IP-based media workflows. Session 6, "The Dynamic Media Facility and Media eXchange Layer (MXL)," will delve into the concept of the dynamic media facility, a flexible, software-defined, and IP-based media production environment adapting to evolving broadcast and streaming demands.
The presentations at the IP Showcase on the Water will be led by top speakers from Appear, Alpha, NETGEAR, DirectOut, Nextera Video, Simplexity, Matrox Video, intoPIX, Lawo, Dolby Laboratories, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), and Grass Valley. Companies like Zixi will highlight innovations in scalable IP video infrastructure for live sports and next-generation distribution, focusing on automation, regionalization, multi-protocol support, and zero-latency streaming technologies.
Andrew Starks, AIMS board member and director of product management at Macnica, stated that the IP Showcase on the Water at IBC2025 offers a front-row seat to the evolution of IP media workflows. The event is committed to educating attendees at major industry events on the business and creative potential of IP media solutions.
The Flint Green Line, an industry initiative aimed at promoting more sustainable travel to IBC, is being sponsored by the IP Showcase partners. Boats will depart from Strandzuid, located near RAI Amsterdam at Europaplein 22, 1078 GZ Amsterdam, on the hour.
