Hyundai India SUV Sales Soar, Exports Up 17% in H1 FY2026

Hyundai Motor India has reported robust export and domestic sales figures for the first half of fiscal year 2025-26. SUVs have emerged as the driving force behind the company's success, with a record-breaking contribution to domestic sales.

Hyundai's export figures have shown significant growth. Cumulative exports for the first half of the fiscal year reached 99,540 units, marking a 17 per cent increase from the previous year. This impressive performance was bolstered by a remarkable September, with the company exporting 18,800 units. This figure represents a 44 per cent increase from September 2024 and is the highest monthly export tally in 33 months.

The strong export performance can be attributed to the popularity of Hyundai's SUV models. The Venue sold 11,484 units in September 2025, its best performance in 20 months. Meanwhile, the Creta sold 18,861 units, its highest monthly tally since its launch. These figures highlight the growing demand for SUVs in both domestic and international markets.

Despite the lack of information about the main target markets for Hyundai exports in the first half of fiscal year 2025-26, the company's export and domestic sales figures paint a positive picture. With SUVs contributing 72.4 per cent of domestic sales in September 2025, Hyundai is well-positioned to continue its growth trajectory in the coming months.
