Hamburg, Germany, is set to become the hub of the global hydrogen industry as the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe makes its annual debut from October 22 to 24, 2024. This milestone event, previously held in Bremen, will now be held in Hamburg, marking a significant step forward for the hydrogen metropolis.

The move to Hamburg is a strategic decision, given the city's international recognition as a leading city in the field of renewable energies. Hamburg is home to numerous important hydrogen projects, and the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe will serve as a platform to showcase these innovations from production to application.

The Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster and its member companies have formed a partnership for the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe 2024 in Hamburg. This partnership aims to present relevant hydrogen projects and foster collaboration within the hydrogen industry.

The Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe has already developed into the top event for the global hydrogen industry. Over 500 international exhibitors are expected to present innovations from the global hydrogen industry at the event. In parallel with the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe, the Carbon Capture Technology Expo will also take place in Hamburg, further emphasising Hamburg's commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

Mike Robinson, CEO of Trans-Global Events, and Bernd Aufderheide, CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress, are proud to establish the world's largest networking platform for the hydrogen industry in Hamburg. The Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe will be integrated into the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe in the future, further strengthening Hamburg's position as a leading city in the hydrogen industry.

In addition to the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe, Hamburg is also participating in Hyvolution in Paris through the Hydrogen Initiative HY-5. North Germany and North England have launched a hydrogen dialogue (HY-5) to collaborate on green hydrogen-focused projects, further demonstrating Hamburg's commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

A green hydrogen-focused article series has been published, and a study series on the potentials and limits of green hydrogen has been launched. These initiatives aim to provide valuable insights into the role of green hydrogen in addressing the energy challenges of the future.

Hamburg's Energy Works has purchased the Moorburg Power Plant, which will be transformed into a hydrogen power plant. This move underscores Hamburg's dedication to transitioning to a hydrogen economy and reducing carbon emissions.

In conclusion, the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe in Hamburg is set to be a pivotal event for the global hydrogen industry. With its commitment to sustainable energy solutions, Hamburg is poised to become a leading city in the hydrogen economy, driving new H2 technologies for the energy challenges of the future.
