High-performance automaker Brabus has constructed a Mercedes-AMG GT with an impressive 1,000 horsepower, but its own transmission can't handle such extreme power.
Introducing the Brabus 1000: A High-Performance Masterpiece
The Brabus 1000, a testament to automotive engineering excellence, has made its grand entrance. This modified Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance boasts an impressive 1,000 metric horsepower (986 bhp), reaching speeds of up to 199 mph (electronically limited) and accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in an astonishing 2.6 seconds.
Under the hood, the Brabus 1000's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine has been extensively modified. The cylinder bore has been enlarged to 84 mm, and the stroke increased to 100 mm, resulting in a displacement of 4.4 liters (4407 cc). The engine's internals are forged, and a bespoke billet-aluminum crankshaft has been installed. Brabus turbochargers and a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with butterfly valves for sound control further enhance the engine's capabilities. The engine management system has been custom-tuned to deliver 796 PS (785 hp) at 5,900 rpm, with peak torque electronically limited to 1,050 Nm to protect the drivetrain. However, the torque figure rises to an impressive 1,820 Nm at lower revs due to hybrid assist.
The hybrid electric motor remains unchanged, producing 204 PS (201 hp) and 320 Nm, contributing to the combined output and assisting in rapid acceleration while supporting emissions compliance. The vehicle retains the AMG Speedshift MCT 9G nine-speed automatic transmission and AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system.
The Brabus 1000's extraordinary performance is matched by its striking design. It features a carbon fiber aero package for functional downforce, and the signature Brabus Monoblock Z wheels, measuring 21×10.5 inches up front and 22×12 inches at the rear. The interior is adorned with black leather with a "Shell" quilting pattern, carbon fiber trim, and red accents ("Rocket Red"). The interior also includes illuminated door sills, custom floor mats, and a quilted trunk liner. A special touch is the "Heritage" embossing featuring "77" - Brabus's founding year.
The Brabus 1000 maintains Euro emissions compliance, with fuel economy around 9.0 liters/100 km and CO2 emissions of 206 g/km. Each Brabus 1000 is built to order and fully customizable, available now through Brabus dealers. However, due to the extensive modifications required, significant lead times for delivery should be expected. The Brabus 1000 carries a price tag of €445,900 (approximately $515,000).
Moreover, the Brabus 1000 comes with an active exhaust system, allowing drivers to choose between a civilized whisper and a full-throated V8 roar. This high-performance masterpiece is a dream come true for car enthusiasts seeking a unique blend of power, luxury, and customization.
The Brabus 1000's design, reflecting a luxurious lifestyle with its carbon fiber aero package and customizable interior, complements its high-performance technology under the hood. Despite its striking speed and acceleration, the vehicle ensures compliance with European emissions standards, making it a blend of style, sports, cars, and technology for discerning enthusiasts.
