Gmail's New Postmaster Tools v2: Compliance Status Dashboard Marks End of an Era

Google is rolling out significant changes to its Gmail Postmaster Tools. The new version 2, set to fully replace the current v1 by September 30, 2025, introduces a Compliance Status dashboard. This dashboard, launched in March 2024, marks the end of an era for many email marketers familiar with the simple reputation charts of Postmaster Tools v1.

The new Compliance Status dashboard indicates whether a sending domain meets Gmail's email sender guidelines. It includes six technical requirements for email senders, such as SPF and DKIM authentication. Non-compliance with these can impact email deliverability.

The dashboard also includes two behavioral requirements. These are a user-reported spam rate below 0.3% and honoring unsubscribes within 48 hours. Both IP and Domain Reputation charts, which provided uncomplicated email deliverability indicators, will no longer be available in Postmaster Tools v1. The IP Reputation chart, in particular, offered a simple, traffic light-style indication of a sending IP address's reputation.

Google's development and provision of the new Postmaster Tools v2 is part of its official service updates. The Compliance Status dashboard is now available and will become the primary tool for email senders by the end of 2025. Marketers are advised to familiarize themselves with the new dashboard to ensure compliance and maintain email deliverability.
