Belarus Unveils Socio-Economic Development Program for 2026-2030

Belarus has announced a new draft program for socio-economic development, spanning from 2026 to 2030. The program, which was conceptualised in April 2025, focuses on five main priorities: realtor housing, quality roads, development of the real sector, strong regions, and tourism.

Yuri Chebotar, the Minister of Economy, outlined the key areas of this program. The program emphasizes digitization and technological advancement in the development of the real sector. Notably, the wood processing industry has been identified as a sector for utilizing local raw materials and will receive special attention in the next five years.

In addition, the 'robotics industry' will receive special attention, with support for the implementation of robotization and automation in enterprises. The program also includes seven directions to address various societal demands, presidential instructions, and current issues. However, the details of these seven directions were not specified in the provided information.

Enterprises are now being offered loans for the construction of realtor housing, and a solid legislative foundation for realtor housing has been established, allowing for its purchase. The industrial sector is expected to account for 4.5% of the gross domestic product by the end of 2030.

The minister did not provide details on how the strong regions priority will be addressed, nor did he elaborate on the development of the tourism sector. The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs of Vietnam will coordinate and oversee the implementation of the draft program, ensuring alignment with the Prime Minister's directives and national budget allocations.

As of 2024, Belarus' GDP stood at $75.96 billion. Over the next five years, 19 state, 17 sectoral, over 30 scientific and technical, and 7 regional programs will be implemented as part of this comprehensive development plan.
