Following Patch 7.3, Final Fantasy XIV sees a massive markdown in the price of all expansion content, including Dawntrail. Here's why I find myself immersed in this MMO daily, and why it has ascended to my preferred game.

Square Enix has launched a massive sale on all editions of Final Fantasy XIV, offering up to 40% discounts on the games, including the Complete Edition, Starter Edition, Dawntrail, and the Complete Collector's Edition. This sale is available on na.store.square-enix-games.com, Steam, PlayStation Store for PC and PS5/PS4 versions.

The sale, scheduled to run until August 27, presents an excellent opportunity for new players to jump into the world of Eorzea, while existing players can take advantage of the discounted prices to expand their adventure. The Complete Edition, which includes Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrail, is currently available for $35.99. The Complete Collector's Edition, usually priced at $139.99, is available for $83.99 during the sale. Even the Starter Edition, usually priced at $19.99, is available for $11.99.

Meanwhile, Square Enix has released Patch 7.3 update, titled "The Promise of Tomorrow," for Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV). This update introduces a substantial amount of content and gameplay improvements that conclude the Dawntrail storyline and expand the game experience significantly.

Key features and content in Patch 7.3 include a set of 10 new main scenario quests, the second part of the "Echoes of Vana’diel" raid series, a new dungeon, new trial encounters, an Unreal Difficulty Raid, a unique treasure dungeon, a new battleground for Crystalline Conflict, new tutorials for quests with special mechanics, and new chapters of Game+ covering Dawntrail content, allowing replayability of the story.

In addition to the new content, Patch 7.3 also brings several quality-of-life and gameplay improvements. These include a highly requested feature allowing players to see speech appear in bubbles above characters’ heads, new features for better screenshot options during group poses, changes to Phoenix Down, increased display range for characters and objects, and the ability for female Viera and male Hrothgar players to hide ears when wearing hats.

Upcoming additions related to Patch 7.3 include a new deep dungeon, Cosmic Exploration planet, and expanded Phantom Weapon upgrades planned for minor patches 7.31 and 7.35. Additional content includes new furnishings from the FFXIV Furnishing Design Contest and expanded subaquatic voyages.

Final Fantasy XIV offers a wealth of both casual and hardcore content, including seasonal events, minigames, optional dungeons, raiding, an in-game economy, player housing, a strong roleplay scene, and rotation-based combat. Despite some recent issues with the player housing lottery system and increased maintenance downtime, the main story quest (MSQ) of Final Fantasy XIV is generally terrific, with Shadowbringers and Endwalker standing out as narrative masterpieces.

With its blend of fresh storyline closure, new challenging content, significant PvP content enhancements, and player-requested quality-of-life improvements, Patch 7.3 delivers a strong mix that enhances immersion and gameplay experience. Final Fantasy XIV remains one of the best PC games and a must-play, despite its issues. So, whether you're a seasoned player or a newcomer, now is the perfect time to dive into the world of Eorzea with the discounted prices and exciting new content offered by Patch 7.3.
