Financed with €680,000, ODOS pushes for environmentally-friendly growth in agriculture and food production.

In a significant stride towards climate action, the Irish climate-tech startup ODOS has recently closed a €680,000 funding round to drive sustainability and reduce environmental impact in the agri-food sector [1].

Co-founded by Alejandro Vergara and Cian White — former researchers from University College Dublin (UCD) and Trinity College Dublin (TCD) — ODOS is a joint spin-out from these prestigious institutions, supported by their knowledge transfer teams [1]. The company has also received backing from the Spanish accelerator Lanzadera [1].

ODOS is developing innovative technology that simplifies the measurement, reporting, and verification of environmental impact for cooperatives and farmers [1]. This tech-driven approach helps agri-food players comply with growing regulatory demands and climate targets, aiming to transform a sector responsible for nearly 15% of global greenhouse gas emissions [1].

The funding will enable ODOS to expand its technology capabilities and scale its market presence beyond existing cooperatives and food companies across Europe [1]. The CEO, Alejandro Vergara, emphasised their focus on offering clarity, simplicity, and actionable results to help these businesses thrive while meeting climate goals [1].

The ODOS team consists of 11 members representing 9 nationalities. Rubén Hidalgo, Open Innovation Director at CAPSA Food (Grupo Central Lechera Asturiana), highlighted the importance of ODOS in supporting talented entrepreneurial teams and strengthening the dairy sector through technology and innovation [1].

TTAF by CLAVE and Angels, the investment company of Juan Roig that forms part of Marina de Empresas, also participated in the funding round [1]. The ODOS mission, of global importance, is to provide technology and strategy to enable companies to make decisions that truly reduce their environmental impact.

In summary, ODOS is advancing climate action in agriculture by providing accessible, data-driven tools for environmental impact management with plans to grow technologically and geographically in the near future.

ODOS, with technology at its core, is developing tools to simplify and verify Environmental impact measurements for farmers and cooperatives in the agri-food sector, aiming to help them comply with regulatory demands and climate targets while reducing their carbon footprint.

With the recently secured funding, ODOS plans to expand its technology capabilities and scale its market presence across Europe, offering clarity, simplicity, and actionable results to support businesses as they strive to thrive while meeting climate goals.
