The lowdown on Eurovision Song Contest 2025's jaw-dropping visuals has finally been unleashed! Held at Switzerland's St. Jakobshalle, the event, co-hosted by the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation and the European Broadcasting Union, reached an jaw-dropping 200 million viewers across three episodes.
In a series of partnership moves, event supplier Creative Technology pulled out all the stops with some eye-catching gear. The main attraction? A Black Marble BM4 LED floor, Vanish V8T transparent LED panels, and Graphite 2.6 indoor LED displays. These bad boys were theVISUAL brainiacs behind the spectacle, gracing the stage from the first to the final showdown on May 17.
Creative Technology worked their magic by using Graphite 2.6 panels for the stage's massive front portal – one of the scene-stealing highlights. The high-res Black Marble BM4 LED floor added a dramatic edge to the stage, lighting it up in style. Meanwhile, the transparent Vanish V8T screens paved the way for layered content, letting lighting and special effects shine through.
The production designer, Florian Wieder, nabbed inspiration from Switzerland's epic mountainous landscapes, pairing artistic scenic elements with top-notch LED tech. The stage setup boasted a massive portal frame, stage, lighting bridges, and a stage backdrop. In the upstage area, you'd find life-sized mountains, a giant screen, and a light grid.
ROE Visual's Vanish V8T panels formed a multi-layered, eye-popping stage backdrop. The LED screen seamlessly blended with the lighting and projections, giving the artists a dynamic backdrop that meshed perfectly with the stage design. All ROE Visual LED systems played nice with Megapixel's HELIOS processing throughout the event.
The whole production game was built on an IP-based video network (ST 2110), backed up by real-time monitoring tools developed by Creative Technology.
Tim Routledge, lighting designer, chimed in: "Using the semi-transparent, 8.9mm pixel pitch screen allowed us to create an optical illusion, letting all the light from behind shine through and make the entire surface a 3D element. We did tons of things where we drove content through the light with pixel maps, creating waves of light with video content, expanding the creative horizons for lighting design."
