Etherscan Unveils API v2: Simplifying Multi-Chain Development

Etherscan has introduced API v2, a simplified tool for developers to interact with multiple blockchains. This beta version provides a single access point for over 50 EVM-compatible blockchains, making it easier to create multi-chain apps.

API v2 introduces several improvements. It allows developers to integrate data from various blockchains in a single query, maintaining compatibility with the previous version. Additionally, it features an AI-powered code-reader tool, introduced in June, which aids in understanding and interacting with blockchain data.

Security has been bolstered with enhanced API keys. These keys act as digital ID badges, confirming user access and preventing unauthorized actions. The use of a single API key simplifies code and setup, speeding up product launches and reducing maintenance costs for developers. Instead of managing multiple keys and complex configurations, developers can now use one API key and specify the desired chain with the chainID parameter.

Etherscan's API v2 simplifies the creation of multi-chain apps, offering a unified interface for over 50 EVM-compatible blockchains. With enhanced security, simplified key management, and backward compatibility, API v2 promises to streamline development processes for blockchain apps.
