Enhancement Evaluation: Crestron's Adjustments Aimed at Seamless Collaboration

The Crestron Videobar 70, manufactured by Poly, is an all-in-one collaboration bar designed for online meetings in medium or large rooms. This device, measuring over 38 inches long and weighing about 13 pounds, is relatively large yet somewhat portable.

The Videobar 70 boasts a quad-camera system, including three narrow field of view 4K cameras and a main 20 MP wide-angle 4K camera. The camera on the Videobar 70 features facial recognition capabilities and tracks the subject with a slight lag, ensuring everyone in the meeting remains in focus.

The audio quality and power of the Videobar 70's speakers can be intense but adjustable, making it ideal for enhancing any meeting or presentation with optimal sound and visuals. The system is equipped with 24 microphones for audio capture throughout the room, and has two 10-watt speakers for playback. Aural features like speaker equalization, adaptive beamforming, dynamic noise suppression, dereverberation, acoustic echo cancellation, and automatic gain control ensure clear and high-quality audio.

However, the initial setup of the Videobar 70 can be complicated and may require assistance. It requires power from a power supply, and connects to a monitor, internet, and other devices via various cables. Labeling the ends of the cables can be helpful for proper cable placement. At home, there may be fewer logistical issues with setting up the Videobar 70 compared to a university setting.

The Videobar 70 requires a separate Wi-Fi signal on its own line for the video touchscreen to operate properly. A separate TS-1070 touchscreen control panel is necessary for custom control of the Videobar 70. Depending on the software version installed, the Videobar 70 may require a Microsoft Teams or Zoom account.

The Videobar 70's cameras allow for multiple views or picture-in-picture customization. The system defaults to mirror mode, which can be switched off on the touchpanel. The touchscreen control allows for better control of meetings and presentations.

In summary, the Crestron Videobar 70 is a powerful collaboration bar that delivers exceptional audio and video quality. While the initial setup may be complex, the device's features and capabilities make it an ideal choice for enhancing any meeting or presentation in medium or large rooms.
