Electric-powered Isuzu D-Max model promises range of 163 miles and 3.5-tonne towing capability
Isuzu has announced the arrival of its electric pickup truck, the D-Max EV, scheduled for delivery in February 2026. The new model will come with a range of impressive features, including rapid charging capabilities, advanced commercial capabilities, and a user-friendly interior.
Key Features
The D-Max EV boasts a wading depth of 600mm, ensuring it can handle tough terrain with ease. It also has a payload capacity of up to 1.0-tonne and a towing capacity of 3.5-tonnes, matching its diesel counterpart's commercial capabilities.
The vehicle's powertrain consists of dual electric motors, generating a combined output of 140 kW (188 hp) and 325 Nm of torque. It is powered by a 66.9 kWh under-floor battery pack, delivering an estimated WLTP range of approximately 260 km (163 miles). Rapid charging speeds peak at 50kW, enabling a 20-80% charge in about one hour, and 11 kW AC charging for a full charge in roughly 10 hours.
Interior and Standard Features
The entry-level D-Max eDL40 model comes equipped with several notable features, including front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, a Rough Terrain Mode, LED headlights, and a digital driver display. It also features an 8-inch infotainment screen and a six-speaker sound system.
Stepping up to the eV-Cross spec includes additional features such as leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, an eight-speaker sound system, and a 9-inch infotainment screen. Heated front seats are also included in the eV-Cross spec.
Off-Road Ability and Pricing
The D-Max EV retains impressive off-road ability, with a ground clearance of 210mm, 210mm wading depth, and approach/departure angles of 30.5/24.2 degrees. The top speed is limited to 128 km/h, and acceleration from 0-100 km/h is approximately 10.1 seconds.
Pricing for the D-Max EV starts at £59,995 (excluding VAT) for the Extended Cab, and £60,995 for the Double Cab. The vehicle comes with a 125,000 mile, five-year warranty and five years of roadside assistance.
Orders for the Isuzu D-Max EV will open at the end of this year. With its combination of power, range, and off-road capabilities, the D-Max EV is set to make a significant impact in the electric pickup truck market.
