EBU Secures UEFA Women's Champions League Rights for 2025-2030
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has secured a significant deal, acquiring free-to-air media rights for the UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL) for the next five years, from 2025 to 2030. This covers 24 territories on behalf of 26 EBU Members, ensuring extensive coverage of the prestigious tournament.
The agreement, which includes television, digital, and radio coverage, will see select EBU Members broadcasting up to one fixture per matchweek. Notably, all Members will broadcast one semi-final and the final each season, ensuring the tournament's key moments reach a wide audience.
Eurovision Sport, the EBU's free streaming platform, will provide complementary coverage. This includes weekly highlights in selected territories, while Eurovision News will support Members with news clips throughout the competition. However, specific details on which countries will receive the UWCL free of charge are currently unavailable.
The 2025/26 season will mark the start of a new format for the UEFA Women's Champions League, featuring an expanded entry system and an 18-team league phase. With the EBU's extensive coverage, fans across Europe can look forward to enhanced viewing experiences and increased visibility for women's football.
