("Dune: Awakening Wins Significant Backing for Steam Deck Prior to Its June Release")
Freakin' Sweet: Dune: Awakening's Battleye Anticheat Compatibility on Linux and SteamOS
A few weeks back, Funcom dropped a benchmark tool for Dune: Awakening, letting us sneak a peek at how it'd perform on our PCs. But some of us were still holding our breath about the anticheat situation. Well, worry no more!
Our pal Liam over at GamingOnLinux has been digging around, and he'sgot some fantastic news. Funcom is collaborating with Valve to ensure that Battleye anticheat will be operational for Linux users, yup, that includes SteamOS too!
The Steam Deck showed some solid performance with the benchmark, but the anticheat dilemma remained unsolved - until now. With 60 FPS gameplay feasible in Dune: Awakening on the Steam Deck, this news is nothing short of amazing! And with FSR 3 and Frame Gen, it looks pretty darn promising.
SteamOS is now playable on the Lenovo Legion Go S, and on the beefier ROG Ally and Legion Go too, albeit not widely available yet. The ability to zip from Windows 11 to SteamOS without getting smacked by anticheat restrictions is something I'll cheers to every time!
Funcom has a stream lined up for May 28, where they'll be dishing the deets on the later game before its planned June 5 release.
