Dacia Unveils Affordable Spring EV, Starting Under £15,000

Dacia has announced the Spring EV, an affordable compact electric vehicle, set to hit European markets with prices starting under £15,000. The production version was revealed last autumn, following the concept's debut last year.

The Spring EV offers a range of around 140 miles, powered by a 44bhp electric motor and a 26.8kWh battery. It reaches a top speed of 62mph. The entry-level Confort model comes with air conditioning, a 3.5-inch media display, and Bluetooth. The Confort Plus adds a 7-inch infotainment system, rear-view camera, and parking sensors.

Dacia will also introduce the Spring Cargo, a delivery vehicle version without back seats, from next year. However, the Dacia Spring Electric is not planned for release in the UK at this time. Renault, the manufacturer of the Dacia Spring EV, produces the vehicle on a platform from China's Dongfeng for European sales starting in 2021.
