New Zealand: Don't Board the Plane Without Your NZeTA

A New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) is mandatory for German travelers to New Zealand. Most requests are processed within less than 72 hours, but it's best to apply well in advance to avoid delays. The NZeTA is valid for two years and grants stays of up to three months. The fee ranges from NZD 17 via the app to NZD 23 via the website.

Israel: ETA-IL: A Quick Source for Your Visit

While German tourists don't usually need a visa for a three-month stay in Israel, starting in January 2025, they will require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL). The application fee is set at 25 shekels.

South Korea: No Permit Required for Now

Currently, no permit is necessary for Germans to visit South Korea for short-term stays of up to 90 days. However, be prepared with your valid passport, as this requirement could change.

Thailand: TDAC is the Key

Effective May 1, 2023, a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is compulsory for all travelers. Replace the old TM6 entry form, TDAC registration must happen three days before arrival. No fees are currently charged, but a 300 Baht fee is expected for tourists starting winter 2023.

Zanzibar: Insurance is Vital

Travel insurance has been mandatory for Zanzibar since October 1, 2024. Prices sit at around $44 per person. You risk being turned away without sufficient coverage.
