Citizens nationwide submit their votes for Constitution amendment through VNeID system

HÀ NỘI — As of 8pm on May 26, over 17.1 million Vietnamese citizens have provided feedback on proposed amendments to the 2013 Constitution through the VNeID application, according to Deputy Minister of Justice Đặng Hoàng Oanh.

In line with the timeline set, ministries, government agencies, and localities are slated to submit consolidated reports on their public consultation results to the Ministry of Justice by May 30. As of May 26, the Ministry of Justice is the only agency to have completed its report concerning the draft resolution to amend and supplement several articles of the Constitution.

The Ministry of Public Security and local authorities are spearheading efforts to increase the use of VNeID and guide citizens through the feedback submission process. This drive is intended to promote quick, convenient, and effective participation. The number of submissions is expected to spike in the coming days.

The collaboration aims to streamline the process while ensuring broad representation, as citizens from various ethnic groups, such as Kinh, Thai, Tay, Muong, and Mong, can submit their feedback via VNeID. To this end, VNeID serves as the central digital platform for collecting and monitoring citizen opinions.

In addition to VNeID, feedback is also received through official channels such as the National Assembly’s Electronic Information Portal and the government’s Electronic Information Portal. Written submissions to relevant agencies are also accepted.

The Ministry of Justice will oversee the compilation and submission of all feedback to the government and the Constitutional Drafting Committee, ensuring they are submitted on schedule and of high quality. This approach has resulted in an efficient and inclusive process, with a notable level of public engagement.

[1][3][4] Enrichment data suggests that the feedback process reflects broad representation, employs an efficient digital platform, and benefits from coordination among relevant government bodies to ensure timely reporting and quality assurance.

The government, through the Ministry of Justice, will oversee the compilation and submission of all feedback received via VNeID, the National Assembly’s Electronic Information Portal, the government’s Electronic Information Portal, and written submissions, ensuring they are submitted on schedule and of high quality. This collaboration in the technology sector, aimed at streamlining the feedback process and boosting public engagement, is set to significantly impact the finance sector, with important implications for economic agencies and businesses involved in constitutional amendments.
