Chicago Welcomes Robot Food Deliveries via Uber Eats
Chicago is now the fifth U.S. city to welcome robots for food deliveries, joining the likes of Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Atlanta. Uber Eats has partnered with Serve Robotics to introduce these emission-free, sidewalk-bound robots in over a dozen Chicago neighborhoods.
Initially, the robots will operate in Austin, Belmont Cragin, Dunning, East Garfield Park, Humboldt Park, Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Little Italy, Logan Square, Near North Side, Near West Side, Uptown, West Garfield Park, and West Town. Customers can opt for an autonomous delivery by selecting the robot option in the Uber Eats app.
This marks another step in the evolution of food delivery services, following the first multi-neighborhood robot deployment in New York City by Uber Eats. Powered by artificial intelligence, these robots are designed to navigate sidewalks safely and efficiently, contributing to a greener and more innovative delivery experience.
Chicago's adoption of robot food deliveries, powered by Uber Eats and Serve Robotics, signals a shift towards more sustainable and technologically advanced delivery methods. With over a dozen neighborhoods already on board, customers can now enjoy the convenience of autonomous deliveries alongside traditional human-driven services.
