CEAT Launches India's First 90% Sustainable Passenger Tyre
CEAT Ltd. has made a significant stride in eco-friendly tyre innovation with the launch of India's first passenger car tyre featuring up to 90% sustainable materials. The SecuraDrive CIRCL is set to redefine performance and sustainability in urban mobility.
Developed at CEAT's R&D hub in Halol, Gujarat, the SecuraDrive CIRCL blends eco-conscious design with safety and performance, targeting urban consumers aged 25-45. The tyre's innovation includes three industry-first breakthroughs: a unified biopolymer inner liner, a glycerol-based accelerator, and an anti-static silica-based conductive solution. These advancements place CEAT ahead in the race for eco-friendly innovation in the Indian tyre market, with major competitors like Apollo Tyres Ltd., MRF Limited, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., and Birla Tyres yet to bring a high-content sustainable passenger tyre to market.
The SecuraDrive CIRCL will be available in two variants, offering 50% and 90% sustainability, priced at ₹8,999 and ₹12,999 respectively. Consumers can expect to find these tyres at CEAT's premium retail outlets and dealerships across major cities starting September 2025.
