Cargoline Presents Cepra App for Smartphones at Transport Logistic 2025

In a significant move towards digital transformation, logistics cooperative Cargoline has announced the launch of an upgraded customer app. The new application, set to debut in common app stores from calendar week 23, promises to offer a more comprehensive and personalised user experience.

The app, developed in collaboration with software provider ICS, will offer key functions of Cargoline's digital customer portal, Cepra, on mobile devices. It aims to provide mobile access to central information, enabling real-time tracking on mobile devices for employees in the warehouse or on the go.

Beyond package tracking and CO2 calculation, Cargoline's new customer app plans to include several additional features tailored for cargo eBikes. These include custom riding modes, walk assistance, hill start assist, battery lock function, family sharing, 3D mapping with terrain profiles, and annual statistics.

While some advanced features like Family Sharing, 3D Maps, and annual statistics may require a paid subscription (Flow+), basic features will remain free. These additions reflect a broader trend of integrating smart software features with Bosch's high-performance Cargo Line eBike systems to deliver a comprehensive customer app experience.

The app also offers various digital tools around shipment handling, such as tracking at the package level, a calendar view for orders, and integrated package measurement via camera. Users can digitize and store documents directly in the app, pin shipments, track status changes via push notifications, cancel orders, and order pickup vehicles using the app.

Artificial Intelligence supports the package measurement in the app, automatically evaluating image material without additional input. The app is a native application for Android and iOS, allowing full access to device functions like the camera, push notifications, or scan tools.

Cargoline's network consists of 53 partners in Germany and is complemented by international cooperations. The general cargo cooperation, a collaboration of medium-sized logistics companies with a focus on system-managed general cargo traffic, unveiled the new customer app at the Transport Logistic in Munich.

According to Christopher Klier, Head of Project Management and IT at Cargoline, the app is a further development of the service concept behind Cepra, providing important information and new useful applications to shippers regardless of location. The app recorded 12.06 million shipments and generated a turnover of 1.59 billion euros with around 7,320 employees in 2024. With these advancements, Cargoline is set to revolutionise the logistics industry, making it more efficient, sustainable, and user-friendly.

The new Cargoline customer app, developed with software provider ICS, not only includes features like real-time tracking and digital tools for shipment handling, but also caters to users of cargo eBikes with additional smart features such as custom riding modes and 3D mapping. Furthermore, this upgraded app reflects a broader trend of integrating technology with lifestyle products, aiming to deliver a comprehensive, personalized user experience in the logistics industry, contributing to its digital transformation.
