Camden Joins London's Virtual Loading Bay Trial for Greener Deliveries

Cross River Partnership (CRP) is expanding its Virtual Loading Bay (VLB) Trial across London. The Camden VLBs, part of a growing network, are dedicated spaces at the kerbside that can be pre-booked for deliveries. This improves efficiency, safety, and sustainability while reducing congestion and air pollution.

The Camden VLBs are part of a trial involving the City of London Corporation, London Borough of Camden, London Borough of Lambeth, and London Borough of Richmond. No other cities in the UK are currently known to be part of this trial.

Katherine Fairfax, CRP's project manager, expressed delight at the launch of the Camden VLBs. She praised Grid Smarter Cities' innovative kerbside technology, which is being tested through this trial. Two VLBs have been launched in the London Borough of Camden in collaboration with Grid Smarter Cities.

The expansion of the VLB Trial to Camden marks a significant step in improving London's delivery infrastructure. By pre-booking kerbside spaces, the trial aims to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability while reducing congestion and air pollution.
