Brunswick Exploration Uncovers Extensive Lithium Deposits in Greenland's Pegmatite Field
Brunswick Exploration Discovers Significant Expansion of Lithium-Rich Pegmatites at Ivisaartoq
In an exciting development, Brunswick Exploration Inc., a mineral exploration company based in Montreal, has announced the identification and significant expansion of spodumene-bearing pegmatites at the Ivisaartoq lithium pegmatite field. This discovery was made on the Nuuk license in Greenland.
The latest findings reveal a spodumene corridor approximately 2 kilometers long by 300 meters wide. This corridor hosts at least eight spodumene pegmatite outcrops, with some samples containing up to 50% spodumene. The spodumene crystals, which range from 1 to 40 cm in size, are predominantly white and pale green [1][2][3].
This spodumene-rich corridor lies within a larger geochemically anomalous envelope, about 3 kilometers by 1.5 kilometers in extent, which contains numerous additional fractionated pegmatites. Brunswick believes there is significant potential for additional spodumene pegmatites both at surface and at depth within this corridor, the broader anomalous envelope, and the entire south Ivisaartoq belt, stretching roughly 20 kilometers in strike length [1][2][3].
To better understand the size, orientation, and grade of these pegmatites, Brunswick plans to commence a comprehensive drill campaign. Sampling is ongoing to understand mineralogy and lithium grades better. The spodumene mineralization has been confirmed using pXRF and LIBS technologies, with samples sent for laboratory analysis in Dublin, Ireland [1][3].
