Brave Browser Introduces .brave Domains for Decentralized Web Experience

Brave Browser and Brave Wallet are set to introduce direct resolution for .brave domains in version 1.81, scheduled for August 5, 2025. This update, a result of collaboration with Unstoppable Domains, brings enhanced decentralized web experience integration.

The .brave domain, minted on Polygon, resolves to various blockchains including Sonic, Solana, Ethereum, Base, and Bitcoin. It empowers users to own their digital identity and simplify crypto transactions. Brave, known for its speed, security, and crypto-native features, now enables users to express their onchain identity and engage with like-minded individuals.

With a .brave domain, users can launch an onchain website hosted on IPFS with no hosting fees. Support for these websites will commence once 2,500 domains are minted. Additionally, users gain access to Unstoppable Messaging and badge-gated Group Chats, fostering community interaction. Owning a .brave domain also allows users to own their onchain identity, create a verified profile, link wallets, and showcase digital collectibles within the Brave ecosystem.

The introduction of .brave domains in Brave Browser and Brave Wallet signifies a significant step towards a user-first internet. Users can now claim a domain that reflects their values of privacy, ownership, and internet freedom. Unstoppable Domains and Brave continue to collaborate, with plans to broaden the reach of .brave and unlock even greater functionality through an ICANN gTLD application.
