Belarus Unveils Groundbreaking Disability-Friendly Car
A revolutionary car designed for people with disabilities has been introduced in Minsk. The vehicle, developed by 'Lada OMS Techno', was showcased at the 'Innoprom' exhibition and marks the commencement of production in Belarus. The car, priced at Br27,000, is compact, easy to maintain, and offers a range of 220 km.
Currently, the cars are being assembled using components sourced from China. However, the specific supplier remains unknown. Despite this, the director of 'Lada OMS Techno', Andrei Augustinovich, has confirmed plans to localize future production.
The car's standout feature is its accessibility. It allows wheelchair users to drive independently, with the ability to sit in their wheelchair, load it into the car, store it, and then proceed to their destination, such as work, healthcare facilities, or the library. The base model comes equipped with essential features like air conditioning, heating, heated mirrors, electric windows, ABS, and tire pressure monitoring.
The launch of this car in Belarus signifies a significant step towards enhancing the mobility and independence of people with disabilities. With its compact size, ease of maintenance, and long range, it caters to the unique needs of its intended users. As production continues and localization plans progress, the car is expected to become an integral part of the country's automotive scene.
