Behind-the-Scenes Insight: SNA Assistance in Crafting the Digital Masterpiece at the Art Center
In the heart of an uptown Dallas neighbourhood, a new landmark has emerged: The QUAD's three-sided LED video wall. This cutting-edge display, a result of a collaboration between Sensory Interactive and SNA Displays, offers a captivating visual experience that seamlessly integrates with the property's design.
The project's inception dates back to January 2020, when the initial concept for The QUAD's lobby included a centrally located integrated LED display. Sensory Interactive, who currently provide programming and operational support for the QUAD's LED display, were commissioned to provide preliminary concept design for the installation.
The face of the LED panels needed to be flush with the terracotta panel surround during installation, making the process complex. However, Sensory Interactive's expertise and the adaptability of SNA Displays' technology allowed for a successful implementation.
The dynamic digital feature of the display creates an experience and unites the development. The fine pixel pitch (2.5mm) was chosen to deliver the highest quality visual experience in the space. The project, which included the development, manufacturing, and delivery of the display by SNA Displays, was completed in July 2024.
The SNA Displays video screen serves as the digital art centerpiece to The QUAD's 12-story office building. A three-sided LED was selected for maximum visibility inside the lobby and outside at The QUAD. The screen wraps around two corners of the QUAD's lobby, offering a panoramic view of the vibrant content.
While the exact technical specifications of The QUAD's video wall are not publicly disclosed, industry standards suggest that it likely employs high-resolution LED panels, seamless edge blending and calibration, digital signal processing and control systems, and possibly cloud-managed audio and video control platforms.
The client and onsite team promote the display as a centerpiece of the property, and the content on the screen is inspired by nature, further enhancing its aesthetic appeal.
