BayoTech & Nikola Team Up for Zero-Emission Hydrogen Delivery
BayoTech and Nikola Corporation have joined forces to advance zero-emission hydrogen delivery. The partnership sees BayoTech purchasing up to 50 Nikola Class 8 fuel cell electric vehicles over the next five years, with the first 12 trucks set to arrive in 2023 and 2024.
Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Nikola Corporation specialises in developing hydrogen-electric semi-trucks. Founded in 2014 by Trevor Milton, the company has plans to build thousands of trucks per year, including the Nikola Tre, aimed at the European market. Recently, Hyroad Energy acquired 113 Nikola Tre fuel cell electric trucks to expand hydrogen refueling infrastructure.
BayoTech, committed to providing reliable, low-carbon hydrogen, will supply Nikola's Class 8 fuel cell electric trucks with its hydrogen. BayoTech's HyFillTM trailers will efficiently move hydrogen to distribution and dispensing sites. The company produces hydrogen close to demand and distributes it via high-pressure gas transport and storage equipment. In return, Nikola plans to acquire up to 10 BayoTech HyFillTM transport trailers to support its hydrogen distribution network.
The partnership between BayoTech and Nikola Corporation is set to significantly boost zero-emission hydrogen delivery. With a range of up to 500 miles, Nikola's fuel cell electric vehicles will benefit from BayoTech's efficient and low-carbon hydrogen supply, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future for the transportation industry.
