BAIC's Arcfox α-S with Huawei Inside: High Demand Despite Price Surge
BAIC BluePark's Arcfox α-S, now in its production version, is making waves as the first car to feature Huawei's full-stack smart car solutions. Unveiled in April, the model has seen high demand, with orders for the 'Huawei Inside' version exceeding production capacity.
The production version of the Arcfox α-S, more complete than its engineering counterpart, is currently undergoing generalized road testing. The model equipped with Huawei's 'Huawei Inside' solution starts at RMB 388,900, offering advanced autonomous driving features. This version is the first high-end pure electric production sedan to feature Huawei's intelligent cockpit — HarmonyOS, with over 25 in-car applications.
Initially priced at RMB 251,900, the Arcfox α-S has seen a significant price increase with the integration of Huawei's technology. The premium version, priced at RMB 429,900, includes higher-order autonomous driving and valet parking capabilities. Despite the price hike, demand remains high, with BAIC struggling to fulfill all orders this year.
The first 100 units of the Arcfox α-S with 'Huawei Inside' were produced on August 31, with plans to deliver 1,000 units in the fourth quarter. Small-scale deliveries are set to begin by the end of December, a month later than initially planned. BAIC, responsible for the production of this innovative model, is working to meet the high demand for this technologically advanced vehicle.
