Asus set to debut EeePad in India during the month of March, 2011.

In the first quarter of 2011, Asus, the renowned technology company, announced the launch of its 10-inch Eee Pad tablets in India. The devices, part of the early generation of Asus tablets, were likely from the Eee Pad Transformer series.

The tablets run on Android 2.3, also known as Gingerbread, and feature a display around 10 inches with a resolution of approximately 1280x800. They are powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor and were priced at roughly INR 22,000 to INR 25,000 at launch, equivalent to around $300.

John Chen, the business head at Asus Technology's mobile communication business overseeing operations in India and the Middle East, stated that the decision to launch only 10-inch tablets in India was due to the perfect balance of mobility and usability. Asus also plans to extend its cloud-based services, allowing users to store their data online, and these services will be bundled with the Eee Pad devices.

However, no specific details about the intended target market (price-conscious or premium) for the forthcoming tablets have been shared. Additionally, no information about the introduction of 12-inch tablets from Asus in India or the pricing and specifications of the forthcoming tablets has been provided.

Asus is yet to reveal its plans for tablets based on Windows (Phone) 7. The reaction of consumers to Windows (Phone) 7 will influence Asus's decision to introduce devices based on it. It's worth noting that these 10-inch Eee Pad tablets are from the early generation of Asus tablets and may not represent the company's current offerings.
