Apple Unveils New Features for iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS, and macOS Big Sur at WWDC20
Apple has unveiled new features for its operating systems at WWDC20. The updates include improved functionality for iPadOS, tvOS, iOS, and watchOS, along with new additions in macOS Big Sur.
iPadOS 14 introduces Scribble, allowing users to handwrite in any text field with Apple Pencil. It also enhances search functionality, making it easier to find apps and information. tvOS 14 adds support for HomeKit-enabled video cameras and accessories, enabling users to view and control them directly from their Apple TV. Additionally, tvOS 14 introduces multi-user capabilities for Apple Arcade, allowing multiple players to access their own personalized gaming experience.
iOS 14 brings The App Library, which automatically organizes apps into helpful categories based on usage patterns. App Clips let users quickly access parts of an app without downloading the full version. Pinned conversations in Messages allow users to prioritize important chats, and cycling directions in Maps provide more detailed navigation for cyclists.
macOS Big Sur, announced at WWDC20, introduces Safari and Mac Catalyst, bringing new features and improvements to the Mac operating system. watchOS 7 includes handwashing detection, sleep tracking, and the ability to share watch faces, enhancing the health and fitness capabilities of the Apple Watch.
