AMD Unveils Ryzen 9000 PRO Series: Peak Model Sports 12 Cores - New Business-Oriented Lineup Offers Three CPUs for OEMs, Boasting Enhanced Business and Security Features

AMD has announced its new enterprise processor lineup, named Ryzen PRO 9000. These CPUs, designed for business use, are not yet available to consumers as they are distributed to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

The Ryzen PRO 9000 lineup consists of three new SKUs: Ryzen 5 Pro 9645, Ryzen 7 Pro 9745, and Ryzen 9 Pro 9945.

The flagship model, the Ryzen 9 Pro 9945, boasts 12 cores and 24 threads, with a base clock of 3.4 GHz and boost speeds up to 5.4 GHz. This powerful processor is manufactured by AMD and comes with a bundled Wraith Stealth stock cooler.

The Ryzen 9 Pro 9945 has shown impressive performance in benchmark tests, outperforming Intel's Core i7-14700 processor by up to 44% in Blender and up to 22% in other productivity benchmarks.

Interestingly, the Ryzen 9 Pro 9945, despite being based on the Zen 5 "Granite Ridge" architecture, has a lower TDP (Thermal Design Power) compared to its predecessor, the Ryzen PRO 7000 series. This could mean more efficient power usage for businesses.

The Ryzen 7 Pro 9745 follows closely behind, offering 8 cores and 16 threads, with a base clock of 3.8 GHz and boost speeds up to 5.4 GHz. The Ryzen 5 Pro 9645, on the other hand, has 6 cores and 12 threads, with a base clock of 3.9 GHz and boost speeds up to 5.4 GHz.

All three CPUs in the Ryzen PRO 9000 lineup have a TDP of 65W, indicating similar power consumption levels across the range.

It's worth noting that AMD has also released new Zen 3, Zen 4, and Zen 5 processors, demonstrating the company's commitment to innovation in the CPU market.

While Ryzen PRO may not be as mature as Intel's competing vPro technology, both offer similar features with an overlapping goal in mind: to provide reliable, high-performance processors for enterprise environments.
