Amazon's Kindle Range: Most Devices Now Come With Ads, But Several Remain Ad-Free
Amazon's Kindle e-reader range has seen a shift in its ad-supported models. Most devices now come with ads on the home and lock screens, with discounts ranging from $25 to $100 for different models. However, several models have remained ad-free, and Amazon has not explained why.
The Kindle Scribe (1 and 2), Kindle Colorsoft (1st generation and 16GB), and all Kindle Kids variants have never had ad-supported versions or options to purchase with ads. These models, along with the Kindle Colorsoft 1st generation, Kindle Colorsoft 16GB, Kindle Scribe 1, and Kindle Scribe 2, are all sold ad-free.
Amazon offers discounts on Kindle models every couple of months, including during major events like the Big Prime Day on October 8th. You can pay $25 to opt out of ads on ad-supported models like the Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition. Amazon has not run a program featuring kid-friendly advertisements, and the Kindle Colorsoft and Kindle Scribe models, along with Kindle Kids variants, do not have ads due to potentially unsuitable content for kids.
