Alliance for Automotive Innovation Names Sarah Puro as VP for Safety and Tech Policy
The Alliance for Automotive Innovation has appointed Sarah Puro as its new Vice President for Safety and Security Technology Policy. Effective immediately, Puro will oversee the organization's safety and security technology portfolio, working closely with the auto industry and government. Puro's extensive experience in transportation policy will be invaluable in her new role. Most recently, she served as a senior advisor to National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy. Prior to this, she held senior policy roles at the U.S. House Committee on Appropriations' subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development. Puro's commitment to security is evident in her previous work. As a principal analyst for the Congressional Budget Office, she developed budget projections for significant transportation spending, including $130 billion for transportation and $48 billion earmarked for infrastructure security spending under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Her expertise will be crucial in developing federal and state policy for the Alliance. The Alliance for Automotive Innovation, representing automakers and suppliers across the U.S., welcomes Puro. CEO John Bozzella noted that automakers are integrating breakthrough safety and security technologies, and Puro's leadership will be vital in driving these innovations and ensuring safer transportation.
