AIFA functions routinely, with travelers noting a tranquil atmosphere and lack of queues
The Felipe Ángeles International Airport (FAIA) continues to be a bustling hub, handling growing passenger traffic and expanding flight connectivity, particularly with new international routes to the United States.
On a recent day, a woman named Juana arrived from Colima, describing the airport as calm. According to her, her flight was without problems. Juana also mentioned that the airport is beautiful. Claudia, another user of the airport, shared similar sentiments, adding that there have been no reports of delays at the FAIA.
Recent developments at the airport include Viva Aerobus launching new nonstop flights connecting several US cities to FAIA. Starting November 20, 2025, Viva will operate three weekly flights between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and FAIA using Airbus A320 aircraft. Mexicana de Aviación also started flights from FAIA to Tulum as of August 25, 2025, using the new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
FAIA serves as a modern alternative to Mexico City's main airport (Benito Juárez International), providing spacious infrastructure and ongoing improvements in ground connectivity, including available taxis, buses, and a planned train service starting in December 2025 to improve access to downtown Mexico City.
Despite the busy day, there are no long lines at the FAIA. People are documenting the airport, taking selfies, and waiting for families with balloons. Our website is now available on WhatsApp for news updates.
In a separate development, it was reported that a US drone flying over Valle de Bravo was requested by Mexico. Contrary to speculation, the drone is not military. The details of its purpose and mission remain unclear.
In summary, on an ordinary day, FAIA manages a steadily increasing number of passengers with multiple domestic and international flights, enhanced by recent route expansions, improved infrastructure, and evolving transportation links supporting both tourism and business travel in the Mexico City metropolitan area.
