Nintendo has announced the release of a new competitive game, Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Before starting a challenge, a video clip demonstrating its completion is provided, helping players to strategize and improve their skills.
With a Nintendo Switch Online membership, players can compete with friends or players from around the world in the World Championship Mode. The game allows up to 8 players to compete or play solo. For players who feel confident in their skills or want a challenge, Difficult Legend Challenges are available.
In Party Mode, up to 8 players can enjoy the game together, with an automatic rewind feature for new players. Completing challenges earns in-game coins that can be used to unlock more challenges and icons.

The game features iconic NES titles and mini-challenges inspired by them, often involving quick sequences or unique game situations.
