Achievements in battery innovation and information sharing in the tech sphere
The annual meeting of the German-Dutch technology and innovation network TECH.LAND took place in Enschede on September 11, bringing together companies, research institutions, administrations, and regional actors from both regions. TECH.LAND, which has grown to 22 partner institutions including the cities of Münster and Enschede, aims to intensify the exchange between Germany and the Netherlands. The network is particularly supported by the Industry and Chamber of Commerce (IHK) North Westphalia, the Oost NL economic development agency, and the Twente Board. Hans Brouwers, manager of the TECH.LAND program, informed about current trends and projects in key technologies such as battery research, hydrogen, or digital data exchange at the annual meeting. In the data exchange area, first cooperations between business and research have emerged. One of the notable projects discussed was the EU-funded 'Mobile Aircraft Charger' project, which has developed a mobile charging solution for electrically powered aircraft in the battery research cluster. The project 'Cross-border Knowledge and Technology Spaces', within the TECH.LAND network, is supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). This project, funded by the European Fund for Regional Development (EFRE), ensures that data is more accessible, enabling science and business to develop new ideas and technologies more quickly together. First projects have successfully started and are supported by European funding. These activities have created new contacts and advanced the networking of experts. The cross-border cooperation will be presented at the innovation festival TECH.LAND Xperience 2026 on March 12 in the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland. Christiane Lösel, head of the International Office of the city of Münster, stated that cross-border cooperation is the key to the innovative strength of the region. Partners will present their previous successes at the TECH.LAND Xperience 2026. A photo of the annual meeting of TECH.LAND was taken by SitaDeVries. The innovation location TECH.LAND will be introduced to a wide audience at the TECH.LAND Xperience 2026. The publication of this press release is free of charge. In addition to delegation trips to the USA and Singapore, as well as appearances at trade fairs such as 'Medica' in Düsseldorf and the 'World Hydrogen Summit' in Rotterdam, TECH.LAND continues to forge ahead, fostering collaboration and innovation in key technologies such as battery research, hydrogen, digital data exchange, circular economy, robotics, and health and medical technology.
