King of Meat Won't Crash: Studio Head Johnny Hopper's Assurance
"100 Levels Remain Functional and Engaging: Insights from the Leader of Meat Game's Studio Regarding Avoiding Crashes"
Despite having over 100 levels to play, Johnny Hopper, the Studio Head and co-founder at Glowmade, has stated that King of Meat won't crash. He emphasized that the team has focused on the game's performance to ensure a smooth experience.
"We've really paid attention to making sure the game doesn't crash," Hopper said to our platform, Gaming. "These levels we're shipping with the game, made internally by our level designers, run super fast and are all really good."
Hopper further clarified that these levels serve as "examples" of what players can create in the game's Create mode using the in-engine developer tools. There are no limits on creating levels, as long as they can run smoothly.
He also mentioned that the game will offer both quality and performance options across PC and consoles, including PS5 Pro, for players to customize. However, the exact details about the performance optimizations implemented to ensure smooth gameplay across over 100 levels aren't publicly available.
Typical optimizations for games with many levels and intense co-op action include efficient memory management, level streaming, graphics rendering pipeline optimization, network optimization, and code and algorithm efficiency improvements. Since King of Meat is a fast-paced 1-4 player co-op hack-and-slash, the developers likely prioritized both CPU and GPU optimization and network performance to maintain smooth gameplay.
The official release date for King of Meat is yet to be announced, but it will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch.
